Musical Beings

I believe we are all musical. We all have a different heartbeat we all walk with a different rhythm talk to a different rhythm and live with a different inner music than the next person. We try and classify it in a genre and put a label on it to sell it, but every last person is different. I also believe before there was life there was music. Vibrations are what makes music. The bird chirping, dog barking, and wind blowing are all part of a much wider musical score. God gets to enjoy this music. The music of everyone. The genre of us all. He gets to listen to it all layered on top of each other. We are only perceptive enough to enjoy music as we hear it. To so many music is simply entertainment. But I believe music IS life. There is no separation, because everything we do involves sound from moving out of bed in the morning to making breakfast to going to work and coming home. It’s all music, but so few can enjoy it on that level. Enjoying the sounds of coffee being brewed or birds chirping is very difficult. It is what I am building myself toward. Trying to be so in tune with everything around you and appreciating it for what it is. Music is a label for life just as breathing is also.

Procrastination

I think so many of us take for granted the much simpler facts of our lives. I don’t mean to say we take our toaster and car for granted, but I believe we all forget how much of a blessing it is to really be alive everyday. Opening your eyes to enjoy a new day. Believe me, I can sympathize with most of you upon waking up and not wanting to venture out to work or scheduled activities.  I have recently felt that way upon waking up, and I find myself asking why. Why don’t I want to get up? I have complete control over my life and I am where I put myself. So why do I not enjoy waking up? I believe it’s big picture that eclipses the smaller fractions of our lives. We often lose sight of the joys in life by stressing out about the future. I am trying so hard to concern myself with now, rather than next or then. If we fail to recognize the now then we are only procrastinating our lives by thinking. Thinking is procrastination. Instead of doing something you’re thinking about doing something.

I can appreciate a plan for the future. But more often than not planning is just that. There’s no substance behind it. I have ‘planned’ on building many guitars, however in reality I don’t have the time or effort to do so. The ‘future’ of my past is now and it’s conflicting with my desire to build what I had previously planned. So I am taking the now and working with it. Learning not to put all hope into the future, and not to plan life away. Now doesn’t exist if you’re living out a plan. There are no plans. Every day is different in every way. We all live by an outline. A vague idea of what we want to achieve in our lives. If we really tried to enjoy every moment of everyday what would that do? For you? For the world?

And so ends today’s rant.

Introduction

I have often needed a place to vent, post thoughts, and get ideas out into the open. This will be the central source for me to talk about my views on life. Call it a blog or journal. It’s a place where I can configure what’s going on in my head and begin to communicate that with others. I’d love feedback on my thoughts.
